Abstract
Xanthogranuloma of the sellar region is an infrequent tumor that shares many characteristics with other tumors of the sellar region. Due to the few amount of case reports, the experience in the recognition and approach of this kind of tumor is limited. We present the theoretical frame of this pathology, looking up to highlight its main features, point out the clinical and imaging findings that allow to suspect the diagnosis, describe the prognosis after the surgery, and settle its differences with other tumors of the sellar region. Also, we describe the surgical experience developed by the authors in 3 cases of xanthogranuloma of the sellar region treated at the Hospital Regional de Concepción between 2013 and 2015.
